DC Centennial Celebration

Thank you to everyone who attended, planned, or otherwise supported our Centennial Weekend this past spring 2024! It was a weekend to remember, between the happy hour at The National Press Club, and the elegant luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda.

In attendance were special guests Becky Kirwan and Patti Levitte, many National Officers, DC Executive Officers past and present, and more. We are lucky to have so many accomplished women involved with our chapter.

We also honored several DC Zetas. These included Julie Blechman who received her Certificate of Merit, Kathryn Greene and Barbara Bowie-Whitman who received their White Violet pins, and Bobby Turnbull who has been a faithful caretaker of our chapter. We are happy to report that the historic scrapbooks that have been stored in Bobby's basement for many years will now be preserved at IO, and be digitized for all of us to enjoy.

The highlight of the Centennial Luncheon was the Keynote speaker Patti Levitte and her insightful speech about the history of DC Zetas. Of note, she found records referring to the DC Alumnae chapter as early as October 1918, which means in fact our chapter is over 105 years old!

After over a year of planning, it was wonderful to see everyone's efforts come to fruition. Thank you everyone who "heard the call" and contributed their time, connections, or financially. You may see more photos of the events here. Please also share your personal photos if you have them!

Zeta Love,

Your Centennial Committee
